FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) is a non-governmental organization, founded in Vienna, Austria, on May 31, 1926 and representing an industry encompassing approximately 40,000 transport and logistics companies. Also known as "Transportation Architects", FIATA has Association members and individual members in some 150 countries.
FIATA has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (among others, CEPE, ESCAP, ESCWA), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. FIATA is recognized as a representative of the cargo transportation industry by many other governmental organizations, government authorities and private international organizations in the field of transportation, such as the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) the World Road Transport Organisation (IRU), the Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer (UIC), the World Customs Organization (WCO) the World Trade Organization (WTO), etc.As part of the development and implementation of air traffic safety and capacity policies, INNDIGO joined IATA in 2014 and has maintained its affiliation, (See certificate of affiliation)

IATA is the instrument for cooperation between airlines, promoting safety, reliability, trust and economy in air transport.
Any airline that has the possibility of operating a regular or non-regular international air service and that is registered with IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) can belong to IATA.
With 9308 offices in 192 countries, the WCA is the largest and most powerful network of independent freight forwarders worldwide, representing a potential scope to provide global transportation and logistics solutions in any of its different modalities: air, maritime , terrestrial and multimodal.
